In April 2012, Pastors Muyiwa and Sola Obasa started a fellowship in their house. Through obedience to the voice of God, what initially started as a fellowship with 28 people became a church now known as Goshen Light church on 19th August 2012. The maiden worship service was held at the Golf Centre in Thamesmead, South East London.
Seven years prior to this time, Pastor Muyiwa who was an associate pastor with an established church began to experience the inner prompting of the Holy Spirit in His heart telling him He would move from there to start a church. This wasn’t a message that He would initially embrace. But after seeking counsel from a minister and experiencing inner conflict in His heart for seven years, a visionary encounter changed his life forever.
In a vision, Pastor Muyiwa saw Jesus Christ calling him and instructing him to pursue this divine assignment. This encounter would mark a start of a new season in his life.
